Dentures are restorative dental appliances used in place of lost teeth. They are removable and are available in two forms, partial and complete dentures. Complete dentures can be used by patients who have lost all of their teeth and partial dentures, by patients who have lost most of their teeth but have a few remaining. The dentures that we offer would be of a prime quality, provide a perfect fit, and, most importantly, at an affordable price.
What are the advantages of dentures?
- Dentures help to retain the shape of one's mouth and face. The collapsed exterior part of the lips and cheeks regain their shape with the use of dentures.
- They help in biting and chewing.
- They help to improve the phonetics, i.e., the pronunciation of words.
- Most important of all, they restore the patient's smile, allowing them to smile with confidence.
Complete dentures are available in two variants; conventional and immediate. A conventional denture is fabricated after removing all the teeth, and also after healing of wounds on the gums. During the healing process, the patient would have to go without teeth, which is for a period of 4 to 6 weeks. Immediate dentures, on the other hand, will be made before the removal of teeth. They can be used soon after the removal of teeth, even before the wound heals. The tissues are then allowed to heal under it. They provide an advantage of not having to go around without any teeth, which would be a let-down. However, during the healing process, the tissues change in size, and the dentures are re-adjusted.
The process of getting your dentures done would take a few visits to the dentist's office. Dentures require highly accurate measurements to ensure a perfect fit, which otherwise would cause uneasiness. Hence, the dentist takes accurate digital molds to create a custom denture. Once the dentures are fabricated, the dentist would check for the perfect fit, size, and color of the dentures. During the final visit, the completed dentures are placed accurately in position by the dentist, ensuring a comfortable fit.
